Oxygen

With how often I've breathed in my life, you'd think I wouldn't need more practice or more reminders.

In 1774, a man named Priestley experimented with oxygen and demonstrated how it improved combustion of a candle. This isn't exactly oxygen's birthday, but can we celebrate the simple act of breathing, the sensation of air moving in and out of lungs that have done that uncountable times already? What child hasn't seen oxygen being separated from hydrogen, changing water to two distinct gases and then rejoining explosively. Shouldn't there be fireworks to celebrate?
